Blockdot worked with LEGO to create the Creationary mobile app for iOS and Android, LEGO’s digital extension of the popular Creationary board game. Creationary 2.0 which launched last month, transforms the classic fun of building with those famous little LEGO bricks into an engaging mobile game that kids and parents can play together along with the physical game board.
What’s New in 2.0 – Companion App to the Board Game
Extending LEGO’s classic toy brand, the Creationary app is an excellent illustration of how a physical play experience can be enhanced digitally in a rich and meaningful way. Creationary not only extends the value of a family’s Creationary board game purchase, but also allows players to experience Creationary prior to purchasing the physical game.

Guess that Build
The Creationary board game is an exciting “build and guess” game that challenges your imagination, creativity, building and guessing skills – featuring over LEGO 300 bricks and accessories. The Creationary app takes the experience to your iPad, iPhone or Apple TV, challenging players to see how quickly they can guess what the virtual LEGO bricks are building. Kids and families compete to be the first to guess each build while earning points and gaining achievements.
Couch Play
Allowing players to take board games from the kitchen table to the family room is a major focus of the Creationary 2.0 app. Families can connect via Apple TV, allowing for game show style fun from the comfort of their couch.
